Mechanic

About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Mechanic to join the Operations Team, responsible for troubleshooting, setting up, and operating packaging machinery. The ideal candidate will ensure optimal machine performance, maintain cleanliness, and uphold safety and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Obtain and confirm proper tooling; set up packaging lines accordingly.
  • Configure process parameters as specified in packaging order batch records.
  • Maintain cleanliness of equipment and tooling.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical issues promptly.
  • Collaborate with QA to address packaging quality concerns.
  • Ensure all machinery and auxiliary equipment are turned off at shift's end.
  • Optimize machine efficiency and minimize waste.
  • Accurately complete all necessary documentation during packaging activities.
  • Provide training to machine operators as needed.
  • Assist Production Supervisor and Manager in maintaining compliance with cGMP, DEA, and OSHA requirements.
  • Verify that all machinery has appropriate safety guards.
  • Promote adherence to safety guidelines among line workers; address any violations.
  • Support Production Supervisor in assigning tasks and ensuring proper training of packaging personnel.
  • Implement measures to prevent accidents during machine operation and staffing.
  • Sign line clearance and line approval documents as required.
  • Confirm the correct materials and tooling are present per packaging orders.
  • Coordinate with QA and Production Supervisor at the start and end of lots to ensure timely and accurate documentation.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by Production Supervisor/Manager or Plant Manager.

Qualifications & Requirements

Equipment Operated: Blister machines, Bottling lines, Cartoning lines, Printing equipment, Conveyors, Pouching lines and other facility machinery

  • High school diploma preferred.
  • Minimum of 2-3 years of experience as a packaging mechanic or equivalent experience.
  • Ability to lift a minimum of 45 lbs.
  • Capability to work in noisy packaging environments.
  • Proficiency in reading and writing in English.

How to Apply

Pay range: up to $33 per hour depending on professional experience for a 1st, 2nd or 3rd shift
